On the opening day, with the participation of Ukrainian delegation, a "Transit" program was presented, which focuses on the Ukrainian, Belarusian and Polish literature. Together with the "Transit" curator Martin Pollack and curators from Poland and Belarus, cultural diplomacy and humanitarian experience within the presentation was debated by Olesya Ostrovskaya, manager of Dynamic Culture projects of Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine. Kateryna Mishchenko took part in the international debate "Many Faces of Censorship", and the writer Natalka Snyadanko, jointly with the leading culture figures of the Central and Eastern European countries, discussed the gender conflicts in the round table "Feminism - Offensive or Defensive". The Ukrainian booth presented photo project "Without Signs of Cultural Life" and held the round table on "Twice better: Translate in Tandem, Share Literature", with the participation of Ukrainian and foreign translators. Besides, Elex company took part in a roundtable of Leipzig Book Fair IT-section.

The Ukrainian booth in an interactive format presented all the literary and publishing novelties, as well as its guests could enjoy German translations of Ukrainian authors kindly provided by the publishers of the German-speaking countries. The guests were demonstrated two anthologies with short biographies of key Ukrainian authors, greeting cards, free access to the electronic library.
In total, during the Leipzig Book Fair, Ukrainian authors, publishers, programmers, journalists and curators will take part in over 20 events.
The "Transit" program was founded in 2012 on the initiative of the Leipzig Book Fair and Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine. For the second consecutive year, the Ukrainian booth is organized by NGO "Forum of Publishers". One of the most world-famous Ukrainian IT-companies Elex in the partner of this year's Forum. Thanks to them, the IT-section of the fair will present the latest Ukrainian technologies for reading and learning.
