Iryna Akimova, First Deputy Head of Presidential Administration of Ukraine: "One of the priorities of health care reform is the development of primary care. The institution of family medicine is intended to detect and properly choose the medical route for a woman with suspected cancer pathology. The "Mobile women's consultation" should significantly help primary care physicians, developing now across the country. This is being done in order to ensure qualified diagnosis and specialized examination of women. The project is an example of a responsible attitude to the health challenges on the part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation "Development of Ukraine", which for many years promotes relevant projects, particularly in the field of TB and cancer pathology.”

Oleksandr Kachur, First Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine: «n order to redefine domestic oncology the Concept of development of nuclear medicine in Ukraine for 2013-2017 years was developed by the Ministry. Its goal is to develop nuclear medicine in all areas - diagnostic, medical and scientific: equipping with the latest high-tech equipment centers, and the widespread introduction of new technologies in medical practice and science. The successful achievement of the goal is only possible when government and business join their efforts. Effective example of public-private partnership in our country is creation together with Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation  "Development of Ukraine" of modern radiotherapy center on the basis of Rivne Oncology Center and equipping of seven cancer centers in western Ukraine with diagnostic equipment. Today, we see another example of effective joint efforts. The main thing in the fight against cancer should be its timely detection. The latest diagnostic equipment, including such mobile systems, is used in the world today in order to provide mass examination."

Anatoliy Zabolotnyi, Director of Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation "Development of Ukraine": "For five years the Foundation is implementing a program "Cancer Can Be Cured", which aims to equip the oncology service with modern high-tech equipment and to introduce best international practices of diagnosis and treatment of cancer in Ukraine. Substantial funds were allocated for its implementation - 315 million UAH. A part of this money  – 4,3 million UAH – is  aimed at the implementation of the pilot project "Mobile Women’s consultation.” This project is a tool that brings highly specialized diagnostics to people under conditions of reforming the healthcare industry. This qualitative diagnostics is a step away for women. We are pleased that today mobile complex is expected in different regions of Ukraine - Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk. In fact the experience of mobile systems in Europe shows that 3-7% of women surveyed were diagnosed with pre-oncopathology, behind these figures are women whose lives will be saved.  You may see further work schedule of the "Mobile Women’s consultation " on the website of the National Cancer Institute.  We hope that this, in my view, good example of a partnership project of Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation "Development of Ukraine" and the National Cancer Institute will be in demand among the population and will help in the implementation of screening programs for breast and cervical cancer in Ukraine. Actually, for half a day of today’s work of the complex the schedule of women for examination is complete for the next 9 days.”

"Mobile Women’s consultation” is a specialized mobile medical complex on the basis of a an 18-meter-long trailer, which is intended for the screening of women for early detection of breast and cervical cancer on the European model. The complex consists of three divisions: the front desk, mammographic and gynecological cabinets equipped with modern medical equipment: mammography with the ability of digitizing and printing of the images on film, gynecological furniture (chair with electric elevator, cabinets for storage and disposal of consumables), a portable device for ultrasound studies with three sensors (which allows to perform examination of small pelvis, breast gland and parenchymal organs, such as the thyroid gland).

The complex is urgent for areas remote from the specialized medical care and for the big cities, given the lack of quality Breast Diagnostics. Capacity of the mobile consultation allows free and safe examination of about 5,000 women a year, about 20 patients per shift. The complex can also serve people with disabilities.  For these purposes it is equipped with a special hydraulic lift.
