Mobile Women’s Health Centre (MWHC) is a diagnostic complex based on 18-meter vehicle intended for mass examination of women for the purpose of early detection of breast cancer and cervical cancer. The complex has been purchased and equipped by Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine within the framework of the program “Cancer can be cured”. MWHC patients are examined by the leading specialists of the National Institute of Cancer.
1,000 women have had check-ups in the Mobile Women’s Health Centre for 5 months of its work
1,000 women have been examined in Mobile Women’s Health Centre for 5 months of its work. In July, MWHC works in Obukhov (Kiev Region), admitting at least 15 women per day. It is important that Mobile Women’s Health Centre can serve both people with disabilities and elderly people. For this purpose, it is equipped with a specialized hydraulic lift; there is a possibility of using the wheelchair.
After five months of Mobile Women’s Health Centre work we already may dwell on the great social effect of this innovation: the patient register is filled to the end of August. "One of the top priorities of the oncology service is the early detection of tumours. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in Ukraine. Launch of the modern mobile complex Mobile Women’s Health Centre by Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine is a landmark event for the women in the villages and towns, remote from the regional centres. We are one step closer to the European standards of health care. I am convinced that modern equipment will help to prevent more than one disease and thus will save many lives", said the director of the National Institute of Cancer, Igor Shchepotin.
