Photo exhibition on tuberculosis opened in Kirovograd
All photos were taken in Kirovohrad Region TB Hospital. In general, these are the portraits of the patients of Drug Resistant and Complex TB Forms Department. Many of the characters in the photos come from detention facilities, representatives of vulnerable social groups. Each portrait is accompanied by the story: through the lens of black-and-white photos the author conveys the feelings of a person, who instead of a full-scale treatment gets only one tablet and melts right in front of our eyes, what thoughts are tumbling in the brain when there are only hospital walls around, what these people have apart from communication with each other.
- "The exhibition opened on June 26, the day when the international community supports the victims of torture. People, whom the exhibition is devoted to, are also victims of torture but legal ones, both physical and mental," says the photo artist.
Alina Yaroslavskaya has been taking pictures since 2011, working in the public sector for 10 years old, she cares about social issues, and therefore her photography hobby is also related to her main activities. In addition to working in "Stop TB in Ukraine", Alina also heads Kirovograd Regional Charitable Organization "Open Heart".
The exhibition will be open till July 20 at: 60 Bolshaya Perspektivnaya (K.Marksa) Str., Kirovograd City. Admission is free.
