The project was launched by "Rinat Akhmetov Foundation" in 2011 and is being implemented in partnership with the National University of Kiev-Mohyla Academy.
Aim of the project is to bring the training of journalists in Ukraine to world leading standards of teaching mass communications, so that future journalists, entering the Ukrainian labor market, could be competitive.
Under the project "Rinat Akhmetov Foundation" on the basis of a media center NAUKMA Mohyla School of Journalism, the first in Ukraine classroom, where teaching is carried out on the iPad, was created. Training program to present knowledge in the field of multimedia journalism was created, which consists of eight training modules and covers all necessary knowledge for a modern journalist (writing texts for a variety of platforms, working with audio- and video materials, photographs, work of a converged editorial office, drafting their own business plan for an online product.
Every year, 10 teachers are selected as a result of the competition from 5 higher educational establishments of Ukraine which have journalist faculty or department. The trainers are the teachers from the world's leading universities and Media Schools, as well as practicing journalists from Ukraine, the U.S., the UK and Spain.
Charitable "Rinat Akhmetov Foundation" within the project supports initiatives to conduct workshops and public lectures on the basis of the university, whose members have been trained under the project, in order to improve the practical skills of journalism among the students of these universities.
