The Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine and the National Art Museum of Ukraine supported by the French Institute in Ukraine (Institut Français d'Ukraine) cordially invite all to meet with Hilem Scherf (France), chief curator of the department of sculpture in Louvre, within the parallel lecture program under the “Dynamic Museum” project.

The meeting will start at 11.00 on May 22, 2013 in the premises of the National Art Museum of Ukraine.

10.30 – 11.00 – Registration

11.00 – 12.20 – Hilem Scherf’s lecture Louvre expositions’ design experience

12.20 – 13.00 – Discussion.  Moderated by:  Olesya Ostrovska-Lyuta

13.00 – 14.00 – Communication and thought exchange over coffee

The lecture is dedicated to the Louvre’s working experience in general as well as its department of sculpture in particular, the interaction of new and old expositions as well as issues of installing artworks into historical and newly constructed expositional space.

Hilem Scherf is the chief curator of the department of sculpture in Louvre, a prominent doer proficient in the arts of the 18th century.

He is a curator for various exhibitions, a responsible person for permanent expositions of sculptures and is an editor of most catalogues. He is a provider and moderator of numerous international scientific discussion groups and the author of many articles and monographs dedicated to the French sculpture of the 18th century.

Olesya Ostrovska-Lyuta is a curator, art critic, head of programs and projects within “Cultural Heritage” area of focus of the Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation.
