21.12.2016

Children from eight family-type orphanages (FTO) took part in a bright event arranged in "Funtura" entertainment centre in Mariupol for St. Nicholas Day. The event was organized as part of "Rinat Akhmetov for Children!" initiative.

"Kids, who are left without parents and custody, have always been the focus of Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. The charity initiative for St. Nicholas Day became a good tradition over the last 16 years. Every year orphanages, boarding schools and family-type orphanages receive presents and a lot of positive emotions", – Yevheniia Rzaieva, the Head of the Foundation's "Say No to Orphanhood" program, shared.

During the entertainment program boys and girls rode the amusement rides, played gaming machines, made New Year souvenirs, participated in soap bubble contest and a fascinating quest. Kids were so excited. "Great event", "Bowling and cars were very enjoyable", "The mood is great", - these are the feedbacks given by children after the program finished.

Parents and caregivers also shared their impressions:

"We are so grateful to Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for its support and care. Children are very happy. And parents had an opportunity to meet each other and communicate. Thanks to you we can always feel support", – Tetiana Savina, the mom and caregiver for seven children, shared.

"Children were really looking forward to St. Nicholas Day and to the presents. We thank Rinat Akhmetov for organizing this event. This person has a big heart and gives warmth and attention to all vulnerable people. We bow in respect to him", – Yuliia Yakunina, mother and caregiver of nine children, expressed her gratitude. The youngest Dashenka is only 1.3 years old.

"Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has been helping orphaned children for many years now. This support is very important for further existence of FTO. Children feel love and attention, they socialize better", – Liudmyla Prunchak, the Head of Children Services in Mariupol municipal council, shares.

Right after the event the Foundation's team went to Mariupol orphanage #11 to present gifts. Souvenirs, stuffed toys, backpacks and also individual sets of cosmetic and hygiene products – these gifts for different age groups have been prepared by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
