"Digital Future of Journalism"

The project was launched by Rinat Akhmetov's Foundation "Development of Ukraine" in 2007 and is being implemented in partnership with the National University of Kiev-Mohyla Academy.

The main target of the Project is to provide editorial offices of Ukrainian media with sufficient number of professionals in the online segment, to enhance the prestige of Ukrainian journalism abroad, to stimulate technological development of editorial offices of the Ukrainian media.

Under the project Foundation "Development of Ukraine" on the basis of a media center NAUKMA Mohyla School of Journalism, a modern multimedia room for learning of 25 students was created. Training program to present knowledge in the field of multimedia journalism was created, which consists of eight training modules and covers all necessary knowledge for a modern journalist (writing texts for a variety of platforms, working with audio- and video materials, photographs, work of a converged editorial office, drafting their own business plan for an online product.

Every year, 25 journalists and editors of the Ukrainian media, who receive training under the project, are selected as a result of the competition. The trainers are the teachers from the world's leading universities and Media Schools, as well as practicing journalists from Ukraine, the U.S., the UK and Spain.

Charitable Foundation "Development of Ukraine" under the project supports the initiative for master classes, public lectures among its graduates to familiarize Ukrainian media environment with new trends of modern journalism.
